Project Scope Development is a process to determine and document a list of specific goals, deliverables, tasks, price estimates and timeline estimates for a web project. It is the first step in ensuring a web project is successful. It’s also to get all parties (client, stakeholder, agency, freelancer) on the same page.
Project Scope Development is not easy and should be taken very seriously. Without it, projects can go off the rails very quickly and cause contention in agency/client or freelancer/client or agency/ freelancer relationships. Every web/digital strategist will need to fully understand how to scope a web project so there’s no room for interpretation, otherwise you’ll get “scope creep.”
